Sustainability

Ocean State Job Lot prioritizes recycling and reusing our materials within our stores, distribution center and corporate office. We are driven to help create a higher quality future for our customers, associates and communities. Our goal is to be a Net Zero company.

Retail sustainability is…

Many things. Our sustainability process begins before we open a store. We avoid new construction carbon emissions by repurposing an existing, vacant retail space. The construction sector produces 1/30th of global waste, and it consumes 40% of global resources annually. OSJL is reducing its carbon footprint through sustainable construction practices.

OSJL is also reducing the waste that goes to landfills by purchasing closeouts, overruns, and excess inventory from other companies, giving those products another life.
