When you give to our To The Rescue program, every dollar goes directly to help animal welfare organizations by providing them with the essential products and supplies they need to operate their organizations. You will help local rescues, shelters, farms and wildlife sanctuaries, and more buy cozy beds to rest in, fun toys to play with, and nutritious food and treats to keep our animal friends happy and healthy.
Giving to To The Rescue is as easy as donating at one of our store registers starting on Thursday, April 25.
To The Rescue Pet Food Donation Program
Ocean State Job Lot recently shared a new pet food program to assist animal welfare organizations in every community that we serve, and the impact was incredible. Our Facebook post reached over 620,000 people, was shared 6,000 times and received 3,000 comments from our loyal customers who wanted to spread the word about the fantastic work that our Foundation does to help animals in need. The donation program also received media coverage from the North Kingstown Patch, New Jersey Stage and the Newport Patch.
On the morning of Saturday, March 9, animal welfare organizations were at the ready to pick up premium cat and dog food to further help their rescues, shelters and pantries. Over 19,000 cases of premium cat and dog food were handed out to eager organizations, to the tune of nearly $400,000 in retail value through all of our store locations. Thank you to everyone who made this new program such a success.
In 2023, we helped over 190 animal rescue groups throughout the Northeast.

Thousands of animals in the Northeast live in rescues, shelters, farms and wildlife rehabilitation centers, and together we worked to lessen the burden for the people who run these organizations.

At Ocean State Job Lot, we care deeply for our animal friends in need. Through our To The Rescue program, over 350 different animal welfare organizations have benefitted from donations from our customers as well as our charitable foundation, to aid in their daily operations.
To The Rescue debuted in 2019, and its success has continued to flourish over the years and provide aid in the forms of essential product, including hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and sanitizing spray, as well as gift cards to purchase other necessary supplies from Ocean State Job Lot, like pet food, pet beds, leashes, toys, chews, and more.
As we have added new Ocean State Job Lot store locations, we have welcomed new animal rescues, shelters, welfare organizations, farms and wildlife rehabilitation centers to the program, spreading the support even further. We consider the reputation and mission of our partners seriously, which is why every participating local organization was nominated by our customers and strictly vetted by animal control officers and veterinarians where our stores are located.
