Operation Sleep Well

Operation Sleep Well is the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation’s program that provides veterans who are moving into transitional housing things they need to feel at home. The Sleep Well kits include items like pillows, sheet sets, bath and hand towels, wash cloths, shampoo, soap, and hair care items.

The program started in February 2025 with a donation to the YWCA Gateway to Independence in Providence, Rhode Island. Since that first donation, we’ve provided kits to veterans’ transitional housing programs throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

We love having volunteers help us assemble the kits. A group of Rocky Hill Country Day School students packed 500 kits with essentials for veterans in need. They were distributed from Maine to Maryland through ten different stops. These kits included additional items to help women who have served.
