Sustainability
Ocean State Job Lot is driven to ensure its sustainability efforts will help create a higher quality future for our customers, associates and communities. Our responsibility as a company is to create less impact on the environment by focusing on ways to mitigate waste, rely heavily on renewable energy, and become involved within our communities to offer support and provide the tools to clean up our environment.
Ocean State Job Lot has a long-term goal of being a Net Zero company, which means we have goals related to waste, energy and emissions.
Through our Renewable Energy initiative, we have plans to become a Net Zero Energy company by generating more renewable energy than the energy we consume. Solar projects have been introduced to the rooftops of a few of our stores. We are currently in the process of expanding these projects to other locations.
Our long-term goal includes plans to become a Net Zero Emissions company that will be achieved with an overall balance of gas emissions produced and gas emissions taken out of the atmosphere. We continue to strive to keep new emissions being produced into the atmosphere as low as possible.
With continuous ventures evolving within our organization, we look forward to bettering the lives of those on our planet.
