Last month, we had a very special adoption event at our Centereach, NY store with @lcarescue, who rescues animals that are in kill facilities. They work to relocate them to no kill facilities and foster homes until they find a forever home. ❤🥹🐾

Our Centereach store has worked with this organization for three years through our To The Rescue program and received Close To Our Heart donations. During this specific event, the volunteers of the organization were surprised with a $200 Close To Our Heart Donation, had a few applications for some of the dogs that were there and had one adoption that went through that same day!

Being able to help local organizations means the world to us as a company. You can help make a difference, too by donating to our To The Rescue program that is going on now in all of our stores. Through this initiative, we can continue to help awesome organizations just like Last Chance Animal Rescue! ❤🐾

Our To the Rescue program is back at Ocean State Job Lot! 🐾❤

When you give to our To The Rescue program, every dollar goes directly to help animal welfare organizations by providing them with the essential products and supplies they need to operate their organizations. You will help local rescues, shelters, farms and wildlife sanctuaries, and more buy cozy beds to rest in, fun toys to play with, and nutritious food and treats to keep our animal friends happy and healthy.

Our #EarthWeek celebrations continue with this awesome story we just had to share it with you! 🌎

Our associate, Sue, in our Canton, CT store was approached by Miss Stevie Juliano, a former Job Lot associate who is now an educator. She was hoping to collaborate on an Earth Day Project and asked if she could "borrow" paper shopping bags for each of her 4th through 6th grade students at Canton Intermediate School, to which Sue agreed. The project had the students come together to learn about the history of Earth Day, what they can do to make an impact, and how they can give back to their community. Each student spent time decorating OSJL shopping bags with an Earth Day theme, quote, or fact.

Shortly after, Miss Juliano returned the beautifully decorated shopping bags to our Canoton, CT store. That location will use the bags for our customers, spreading the students' messages. Each bag will be an important reminder of the good things that can happen when OSJL & the community come together to celebrate Earth Day.

A special thank you to our associate Sue for sharing this story and to Miss Juliano for involving OSJL in this awesome and impactful project! 🌎
