At Ocean State Job Lot, we care deeply about veterans and their commitment to serving our country. Giving back to veterans in need is a gesture of gratitude and respect for their selfless service and sacrifices made in defending our country. These brave men and women have dedicated their lives to safeguarding our freedoms, often facing unimaginable challenges and hardships during their service. Ocean State Job Lot takes great pride in providing support through our Buy-Give-Get coats program and ensuring they receive care through a warm winter coat during frigid winter months. Their well-being is at the heart of our Buy-Give-Get program, and we are grateful for their service.

Through the Buy-Give-Get programs we’ve run over the past seven years, we’ve donated nearly 300,000 winter coats to veterans in need. We have partnered with numerous veterans support organizations throughout the Northeast, and the  images below are just a few of the recent donations we have made this year.

On November 8, 2023, we handed out 700 coats in Lewiston, Maine, to assist veterans and their families in partnership with Disabled American Veterans and the local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter.

Four thousand  winter coats were distributed to Massachusetts State Police, and local police departments, including Foxborough Police and Fire Departments, to assist their communities.
