Last week, David Sarlitto, Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation delivered five pallets of amaryllis bulbs to the Community Renewal Team in Connecticut and the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Rhode Island. The amaryllis, a Greek name meaning “to sparkle,” is believed to stand for strength, determination and pride, as they bloom tall above other winter flowers. As we head toward spring, many are gearing up for better weather and the opportunity to fill their gardens with beautiful flowers. These amaryllis bulbs will surely be a nice addition for these veterans groups to enjoy well into the summer.
