The Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation developed a meaningful connection to our communities with the Close to Our Heart program, which was introduced in 2020. This program was designed to empower our store teams to connect to the community where they live and work, and give back in a meaningful way.

Over $300,000 donated to local nonprofit organizations, keeping every dollar close to home

Here at Ocean State Job Lot, we recognize the importance of each community that supports and is part of our organization. Our associates take great pride in giving back to their own local communities through the Close to Our Heart program.

With organizations large and small receiving donations from the Close to Our Heart program, the list of beneficiaries continues to grow each year. From military and veterans organizations to nonprofits that enrich the lives of children, the reach of the Close to Our Heart program is expansive. As more of our retail stores open throughout the Northeast, the breadth of our giving spreads farther. With every new store opening, our Foundation gives back to that community in a meaningful way, from partnering with a local food pantry to donate pallets of nutritious food, to assisting local first responders, to partnering with charitable organizations that focus on sustainability, or providing monetary support to an animal rescue, it’s our honor to be welcomed into the community with open arms.
