Recently, the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation donated 33,000 seed packets, valued at approximately $66,000, to the Maryland Master Gardeners. The seeds were donated along with spring-flowering bulbs worth another $2,000, for a total donation value of $68,000.

“That’s a huge donation for a state program,” said Rachel Rhodes, University of Maryland Extension Master Gardener Coordinator in Queen Anne’s County. “I never expected a company to be so generous.”

With this program, tens of thousands of Maryland residents will have access to seeds this growing season.
