Partnering with the New England Patriots, the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation supported this year’s Patriots Foundation Adopt-A-School recipient, Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan, MA. A donation of more than 600 backpacks – one for each student – and forty rugs for the classrooms was made to the school from the charitable foundation to go along with bins of school supplies, bulletin board paper, and a laminator from the Patriots Foundation. Ocean State Job Lot’s Vice President of Corporate Giving David Sarlitto was joined by Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins, and safety and defensive back Kyle Dugger for the event.

Thanks for helping us save children’s lives with Plumpy’Nut.

Ocean State Job Lot is proud to announce that it has partnered with its customers to donate 1.2 million meals during a recent fundraiser in the summer of 2025 to support global humanitarian relief efforts. The initiative provided children suffering from severe malnutrition with Plumpy’Nut, a ready-to-use therapeutic food produced by Rhode Island–based non-profit Edesia Nutrition.

Plumpy’Nut is a shelf-stable peanut paste enriched with vitamins and minerals that has been proven to treat and cure severe acute malnutrition. A single carton containing 150 servings can save the life of a child. With Ocean State Job Lot’s trucks delivering products to the Port of New Jersey, together with Provision Ministry and World Vision, Ocean State Job Lot helped deliver Plumpy’Nut to hospitals overseas that oversee the saving of children’s lives.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers, who helped us surpass our goal and provide life-saving nutrition for thousands of children,” said David Sarlitto, Vice President of Corporate Giving, Ocean State Job Lot. “This effort is proof that together, we can make a global difference from right here in Rhode Island.”

Thank you for partnering with us to save children’s lives.

Buckets for Vets

Rhode Island State Police, the Rhode Island National Guard, the VFW, the American Legion, the Seabees, students from LaSalle Academy and Rocky Hill Country Day School, Ocean State Job Lot associates, and volunteers from several additional organizations volunteered to fill 2,500 buckets full of supplies for veterans in need on Saturday, November 2. Several Rhode Island state elected officials were at the event and showed support for the cause.

The buckets were filled with warm winter wear including coats, hats, gloves, scarves, insulated socks, hand and foot warmers and additional essential items such as a first-aid pack, water, soap and shampoo. The buckets were then taken to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Sports Complex and escorted into the event by the Rhode Island State Police to be given to military veterans and military families on Friday, November 15. The kits are being  delivered by first responders, police, and veteran service organizations.
