The OSJL Charitable Foundation recently made a couple of donations of yarn from the Buy-Give-Get Yarn program. One pallet was delivered to Veterans Base Camp Community Training Center in Woodstock, CT. Through a number of their services such as short-term diversion-housing, on-site food pantry, fellow veteran outreach program and at-risk youth coaching, the yarn donated will be put to good use, creating cold weather accessories and blankets for veterans who need them.
Additionally, Ruth’s House located in Haverhill, MA received a pallet of Buy-Give-Get yarn that was then distributed to multiple senior centers and churches including Haverhill Senior Center, Greater Lawrence Health Center and Lowell Afghans, so knitters and crocheters can create accessories and blankets for people in need. Ruth’s House provides employment training opportunities, as well as a clothing program and children’s reading club, for individuals, children and families in need throughout Massachusetts.
