Last week, the University of Connecticut Master Gardener program received roughly 105,000 packets of Burpee seeds for their upcoming spring harvest from the OSJL Charitable Foundation. From beautification efforts to cleanup of state parks, the Master Gardener program at UConn helps to address three main initiatives for the College of Agriculture: ensure sustainable agriculture and food systems; foster sustainable landscapes; and enhance human and environmental health and well-being. In 2023, the program distributed to nearly 575 organizations, and they expect to partner with 600 organizations this year.
