Driving Sustainable Practices at Ocean State Job Lot
Ocean State Job Lot’s Director of Energy, Procurement & Corporate Facilities Harry Oakley was invited to the University of Rhode Island in February 2024 to speak to its Economics of Small-Scale Energy Systems class.
Oakley spoke about the economics of corporate sustainability, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. Among the topics discussed were reducing Ocean State Job Lot’s overall electricity consumption by 10% and the completion of multiple solar projects. Ocean State Job Lot hopes to bring the number of solar projects completed to 18 by the end of 2024.
Ocean State Job Lot was awarded the Sustainability Leadership Award from the Business Intelligence Group in 2022 and 2023 for making sustainability a prominent part of our business goals and mission.
